Westlakes NAIDOC Family Fun Day was held on Tuesday 9 July 2019 at Toronto Foreshore.
Around 400 people marched from Toronto Town Square to the foreshore and around 2000 people enjoyed the entertainment and the community BBQ. There was a record number of stalls and displays and people enjoyed the glorious weather. Entertainment was local this year, with performers such as Sharnee Fenwick, Goodgygang Awaba Dancers and Elly Hanshaw. The community awards acknowledged people such as Amos Simon, Bev Tope, Anni Cockburn, Kim Robl and Glen Boyd for their work in the community. The Koorioke was a big hit in the afternoon with some great local talent taking to the stage.
